Metamorphic Landscape Watch Store
Interiors
Naturally Inspired, Modular Innovation
Reconfigurable boulders future proof the fit-out and eliminate waste as the collection evolves.
This single-room watch store transforms into a sculpted landscape of lacquered MDF “boulders,” inspired by the elemental character of natural rock formations and the surreal juxtaposition often seen in watch campaigns—hyper-engineered timepieces set against untamed nature. Referencing icons like the Utah monolith, the space contrasts raw mass with meticulous precision.
Each “boulder” is a modular display unit—identical in shape, but rotatable and reconfigurable. Designed for efficiency, it’s a single form used in repetition, with removable top and bottom panels for power access. Each module is designed to appear metamorphic, subtly shifting as you walk around it. Aggregated in various compositions, these modules adapt fluidly to an expanding inventory of Audemars Piguet, Rolex, Vacheron Constantin, and Patek Philippe watches.
The design language is cohesive and immersive: custom-cut velvet pedestals mimic the boulder geometry at a smaller scale, while a CNC-cut boiserie wall nods to traditional guilloché patterns. A similar form frames the window, creating a theatrical display. Even the desk perches on one of the boulders, anchoring the store’s identity.
Above, custom safety glass vitrines with integrated lighting provide ideal viewing angles—highlighting the interplay between elemental ruggedness and the intricate craft of horology, all within a compact, materially efficient footprint.
